Do you have a federated searching tool or are thinking about getting one? Federated search is an important tool that enables libraries to give users what they want: good information, fast and easily. A brief discussion of the mechanics of fed search tool will be followed by a discussion of recent developments in the field. What are the best practices for implementing and configuring you federated search? Tune in and find out.
Who Should Participate? Any library staff who either have a federated search tool or are considering one for their library should tune in to find out about recent developments and best practices in the federated search arena.

Presenters:
Frank Cervone is the Assistant University Librarian for Information Technology at the Northwestern University Library. The author of numerous articles and four books on topics related to information technology, he has been a speaker at library information technology conferences in the United States, Canada, Great Britain, Australia, and Brazil.
Jeff Wisniewski received his MLS from the University of Pittsburgh School of Information Sciences. He is the Web Services Librarian for the University Library System at the University of Pittsburgh, where he maintains the Library System's public Web site, staff intranet, coordinates technical support for Pitt's University-wide ETD program, and project manages new technology initiatives.
