Tech Tuesdays: Talking with Techies Series
Join this fast-paced overview of the current hardware available and learn how new technologies are making hand-held computers not just palatable but preferable for on-the-go users. Fox highlights the latest developments in applications for mobile and hand-held tools and how these can and are being utilized by libraries and information seekers of all kinds. Come hear what’s happening with traditional information vendors and mobile interfaces, the mobile optimized Web, point-of-need answers, reference texting, and multimedia (such as podcasting and location-free TV) for your mobile device.

Megan Fox Megan Fox is the Web & Electronic Resources Librarian for the Simmons College Library, and Special Projects Analyst for Administration and Planning. She manages the Library's Web site, negotiates contracts and subscriptions for on-line research databases, and assists the Public Services department with instruction, faculty outreach, and marketing library services. Megan received her MA in Literature from Boston College in 1994 and her MLS in Library and Information Science from Simmons in 1998. At Simmons, Megan also teaches graduate and continuing education courses for the Graduate School of Library & Information Science. Her specialties include on-line resources, searching the Web, business information, and mobile technologies. Megan maintains extensive Web resources on mobile technologies.
