About the Education Institute
The Education Institute is a continuing education program for library information workers developed by The Partnership of Provincial and Territorial Library Associations of Canada. The program offers one-hour webinars and 3- to 6-week online courses for libraries for the public, academic (college & universities), school (elementary & secondary) and special libraries sectors. Provincial and territorial library associations receive monetary compensation for each registrant from their particular organization on a quarterly basis.

EI offers single-site registrations for one-hour webinars for the usual fee of $45 for members and $55 for non-members. We encourage participants to use these webinars as collective professional development opportunities. Register, project the web session in your meeting room, and have a group learning experience with your team.
After the session, all registrants receive a link to a streamed recording of the session, which you can access for one year after the session date. If you would like to show one of our webinars to various groups or individuals repeatedly as part of a training program, please contact EI
to inquire about institutional rates. Again, your institution would have access for up to one full year.
Our webinars are conducted using the Adobe Connect platform. No special software is required other than internet and computer speakers although sometimes add-ins need to be installed. For more information, access our Registration FAQ
Bright Young Minds
ATTENTION STUDENTS & NEW GRADUATES:
Do you have an interesting topic that you’d like to share with library professionals across Canada? Looking for a way to boost up your CV? Would you like to gain experience speaking to virtual groups? The Education Institute is seeking speakers to conduct webinars that would be of interest to Canadian information professionals.
We value student research and want your voice to be heard. As the next generation of library professionals, this is a wonderful opportunity to share your research with people in the field and foster connections between academic schools and professionals.
Interested students are encouraged to submit their proposal using the web form. Student speakers will be a part of our “Bright Young Minds” webinar series. Each speaker will receive an honourarium. The webinars included in this series are free for all association members to join.
The Education Institute offers 3- to 6-week online courses for varying fees. These courses are usually based on instruction and exercises received once a week, conducted synchronously or asynchronously using Adobe Connect, the OLA Community discussion boards, and other platforms at the discretion of the instructor.
