This session will review the current research about mindfulness and meditation, focusing specifically on information and techniques discussed in "The Mindful Librarian" by Richard Moniz, et al. The presenter will share experiences from her recent participation in the ALA course, "Mindfulness for Librarians: Handling Stress and Thriving Under Pressure" with Richard Moniz and Martin House and "Mindfulness and Self Compassion" course offered at the University of Toronto.

Mindfulness and meditation can offer effective ways to cope with stress in the workplace and your personal life and many professionals are using this as means to support themselves in difficult situations.
