Libraries strive to provide exemplary service to diverse communities across the country, but are you getting in your own way? What comes to mind when you hear the word dark? For many of us, we associate it with evil, bad, and scary themes. Ever wondered why that is? Well, it's a little unconscious voice called an implicit bias that lives in your head and it could be getting in the way of providing effective customer service to your community, especially to members of underserved populations.
