About This Session:

This session will outline ideas on how to run an engaging and exciting Forest of Reading program within your school. It will cover how to integrate books into library programming, establish and facilitate reading clubs as well as practical activities that can support your Forest of Reading program and engage your students.

Learning Goals:

1. How to engage students in the Forest of Reading

2. Practical ways to facilitate and use the forest of reading sets in your library

3. How the titles of Forest of Reading can support the curriculum.

About the Presenter:

Natasha Rankin is the Teacher Librarian and ESL Resource Teacher at Sixteenth Avenue Public School in the York Region District School Board. She has been running the Forest of Reading Program in her library for 3 years and it is one of her favourite parts about library work.
