About this Session:
This session will demonstrate tools for finding accessable Canadian data, on frequently asked for library reference topics, from geneology to environmental data.   We will look at data from across Canada. Private sector, provincial and local data will be included, as well as federal government data.  
Participants will come away with:
-Easy tools for searching for  Canadian data on many different topics.
-An understanding of what is available from over 200 Canadian data repositories.
-The basics on how to use this available data in library reference practice.

About the Presenter:
Peter Webster is Associate University Librarian Information Technology Systems, at the Patrick Power Library, Saint Mary's University, in Nova Scotia. He is Chair of the External Advisory Committee for the Statistics Canada Data Liberation Initiative, and a member of the Expert Group for the CARL Portage, Federated Research Data Repository (FRDR) program.
