Have you ever been invited for a media interview on behalf of your library and weren’t sure how to handle it?
Media coverage of your organization or library can significantly promote your services, resources, and programming, while enhancing your organization’s reputation. However, for many library and information professionals, an interview can be fraught with anxiety. This workshop is designed to help you excel in communication with journalists – with special focus on radio and television broadcast segments. Learn how to prepare for an interview, speak effectively about your organization and sound clear and comfortable on air.

3) How to handle difficult questions 
4) Stage fright and body language 
5) What to wear
6) Skype and FaceTime: Choosing the best set and lighting your webcam

About the presenter: Lani Krantz is a communications specialist, currently responsible for supporting public relations and media relations initiatives across departments and institutes at the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy. Prior to that, Lani worked for nearly 14 years as a journalist with CBC/Radio-Canada, producing hundreds of news and current affairs radio and television interviews for national broadcast. She holds a B.Sc. from U of T in International Development and Environmental Science and a post-graduate B. Journ. from Ryerson University.
