Let's Get Digital: Virtual Programming for An Epic Summer

Let's Get Digital: Virtual Programming for An Epic Summer

Date & Time:

Tuesday June 30, 2020 @ 2pm

About this session:

It is clear that programming will be remaining in the digital sphere for the foreseeable future. Many libraries are even cancelling physical programs for the rest of the year. This arrangement can make things difficult as we struggle to make summer just as special for our children patrons as we usually do. Come and share the children's programming that you are planning this summer at your library, or learn what other libraries are planning. Bring your imagination, an open mind, and a can-do attitude to keep the tradition of epic summer programs alive!
This session is brought to you by OLA's Children and Youth Services Committee.

About the presenters:

Brooke Windsor
Brooke is currently the co-chair of the OLA Child and Youth Services Committee and an Associate Branch Librarian at Richmond Hill Public Library. Originally wanting to be the love-child of Kathy Reichs and Indiana Jones, she was pulled into the magical world of library service over 12 years ago. She has an MS in Instruction and Curriculum specialized in School Library Media along with an MLIS from the University of Toronto. Finding that her ultimate passion was in youth services, she did what she normally does in a heart-fuelled endeavour -- ran in head-first and never looked back! Cosplayer, movie fanatic, binge watcher, Disney Worlder. Proud cat mom of Guinevere and Freya.

Michael Rogowski
Michael Rogowski has worked for four different library systems, and worked for the Ontario Library Association for over six years. He was an Information Assistant while at Vaughan Public Libraries, developing and delivering children's programming. He has put on several seminars about Podcasting and Dungeons & Dragons (check out the most recent one here!), and how each can be utilized in a library setting.
